Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 21: Various Sikh Organizations including Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), Sikh Intellectuals circle, Akaal Purkh Ki Foaj, Supreme Sikh Council, JK-Sikh Council, Sikh Missionary College, International Sikh Federation, JK-Sikh Council, Sikh Students Federation, Gurmat Study Circle, Sikh Youths of J&K and several others today organized peaceful protest against the illegal and inhuman thrashing of innocent Sikhs by Delhi Police recently in Mukherji Nagar area of Delhi. Protesters said that entire Sikh community of J&K strongly condemns this inhuman attitude of Delhi Police.
Senior Sikh leaders of these organizations and a large number of protesters assembled here today in front of Gurudwara Baba Fateh Singh ji, Gandhi Nagar. Protesting people were carrying the placards of auto driver Sarabjit Singh and his minor son with clear multiple torture marks on their bodies. Shouting slogans for justice, the protesters demanded stern action against the culprit policemen of Delhi Police. Sikh leaders while strongly condemning this inhuman act of Delhi Police said that this fresh wave of violence against Sikh Community has put a question mark over the safety and security of minorities in India as we are yet to receive any semblance of justice in the matter of continuous injustice with minority Sikh community, particularly after 1984 the continuous denial of justice is an endorsement of the crime against humanity by successive regimes in India, which has badly shaken the faith of minority Sikh Community in so called democracy and justice delivery system.
Sikh leaders with one voice said that persons in uniform worldwide are not only responsible for maintaining law and order but also have responsibilities to maintain communal harmony but unfortunately here in India such shameful acts with impunity are creating insecurity and hatred against the minorities in India.
