EE&RS deptt hosts symposium, painting competition for students | World Nature Conservation Day 2019 | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 30: A painting competition on "Nature and its Resources" and a Symposium on the topic "Need of conserving Natural Resources" was organized here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Canal Road by Department of Ecology, Environment and Remote Sensing(EE&RS) to mark the World Nature Conservation Day ,20l9. Kuldeep Kumar, DFO, Environment and Remote Sensing alongwith the staff organised the event in which about 400 students alongwith faculty members of the school participated. The prizes in the shape of trophies were awarded to the meritorious students. The Eco-friendly material in the form of Cotton bags, Jute bags and wicker baskets were presented to the students and staff of the school to discourage the use of plastics. Abhisheik Padha, a Painting expert evaluated the painting sheets and adjudged the winners. Later, the DFO, Ecology Environment and Remote Sensing, highlighted the need for discouraging plastic and polythene pollution and preserving the natural resources for future generations. |
