NMC, several organizations launch plantation drive | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 31: National Mazdoor conference (NMC) in collaboration with several social-culture organizations sponsored plantation drive concluded today. The weeklong drive was spearheaded to spread awareness and practically protect the environment by planting nearly (2000) plants of various genius. The environmentally friendly and protection campaign started from Muthi village. The local residents also contributed and appreciated the drive. National Mazdoor Conference president Subash Shastri released a communication on the concluding days vis-à-vis the necessity of conducting such a drive. Shastri told the gathering at Gandhi Nagar that NMC although it takes up causes of working class, but is also conscious of its social responsibility "Indian ethos considers all life forms as extension of one single reality", Shastri said. Shastri further said that the law of interdependency of existence is the age old dictum of environment and ecological protection. Prominent social activist and environmental, campaigner B.S. Jamwal Retd. Deputy Commissioner and Ramesh Sharma Gen. Secy. Baba Bhair Dev Santhan Trust well known dancer and singer Yogeshwar Singh Jamwal also attended the campaign. The participations lauded their efforts. Among others who were present on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Surinder Kumar, Yash Pal, Tilak Raj, Darshan Bawa, Sardhri Lal and others. |
