Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul celebrates Annual Day

Katra, Aug 31: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul, Charan Paduka, Katra, celebrated its Annual Day by organising an impressive function at the Matrika Auditorium of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. Prof. Rajaram Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi, was the Chief Guest on this occasion, while Dr. Ashok Bhan, Member Shrine Board presided over the function and Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, was the Guest of Honour. Prof. YK Mishra and Prof. Vishwamurty Shastri were the special guests. Prof. Shukla lit the ceremonial lamp in the presence of Simrandeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; Vivek Verma, Additional CEO; and other dignitaries to mark the commencement of the Annual Day function. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Shukla lauded the Shrine Board for establishing the Gurukul and putting in place excellent facilities for imparting quality education in Sanskrit and other subjects for all-round personality development of the students pursuing their education in this institution. He highlighted the importance of Sanskrit language and referred to the great relevance of ancient Indian wisdom in modern life. He congratulated the management, Acharyas, teachers, staff and students of the Gurukul on the Annual Day and gave away prizes and certificates to the meritorious students on the occasion who have excelled in academics, sports and various other extra-curricular activities during the past one year. Simrandeep Singh, CEO of the Shrine Board, presented mementos to Prof. Shukla and other dignitaries on this occasion.
Dr. Arvind Karwani, Dy. CEO, SMVDSB and Administrator of the Gurukul, gave welcome address while Dr. Dhananjay Mishra, Principal of the Gurukul, presented Annual Report of the institution. Dr. Devendra Rijal, Vice Principal of the Gurukul, presented vote of thanks.
