Samba, Aug 31: The district administration Samba has started measures to prevent spread of dengue through awareness, sanitation and medicare facilities. Alert has been sent to all BMOs in the Samba to enhance surveillance for early detection, at all levels to sensitize health staff and provide public awareness/education on signs and symptoms and prevention. Sentinel Surveillance Centre (Dengue Lab) has been established at District Hospital Samba. Anti larva sprays has been started in water bodies, ditches, drains, Nallahs, stagnant water and in the vicinity wherever positive cases are found. Besides this all sort of medicine to treat the disease are available at all health institutions in District Samba. Meanwhile the health department has also issued public advisory to prevent Dengue - a viral disease caused by Dengue virus (DENV,1-4 serotypes). |
