JAMMU, Oct 1: A meeting of representatives of various political parties was held today under the Chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu (Nodal Officer Model Code of Conduct), Rishpal Singh, regarding implementation of Model Code of Conduct for ensuing election to the Chairpersons of Block Development Councils in Jammu district.
The copies of MCC and other related papers were provided to the participants and were explained about details like restrictions on use of religious places for campaign, hatred speech, attack on personal integrity, no use of loudspeaker/conduct of public meeting or procession without permission. The participants were also asked not to deface the private property for erecting flag, pasting notices and poster of slogans or banner without written permission from the owner of the property.
The participants were also asked to maintain day to day election expenses register of their contesting candidates from the date of filing of the nomination papers till the counting of votes for which the maximum limit has been fixed at Rs.2,00,000/- by the Election Authority. |
