Former PDP leader trying to appease BJP
10/1/2019 10:40:28 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 1: A Former leader of People Democratic Party, who was sacked from the party after PDP coalition with Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) collapsed in 2018 has been trying hard to "make friends" with senior leaders of BJP.
Sources said the leader who preferred to stay away from Kashmir since the abrogation article 370, has been often seen lobbying in corridors of the power outside his native valley.
Sources said the leader wants to keep the BJP in "good humour with the basic aim of preventing his own detention unlike other leaders who have detained" since the abrogation special status on Aug 5, 2019. Official sources said the politician in question is among the very few politicians in Kashmir who were put under detention.
Sources said that the leader has been in touch with the some middle-rung leaders of the BJP and is desirous of hold a meeting with top brass of right wing party to "improve ties" with them though some of the top ranking politicians are understood to have denied him any appointment as yet.
The former PDP leader, who was once desirous of replacing PDP president Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister, is known for his "influential contacts" outside Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources said that politician and his younger brother have been mostly camping in national capital and avoid any media interaction. It is pertinent to mention that since the abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir, as a preventive measure, over two dozen senior politicians from various parties have been put under detention.
While some of them including NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah are under house arrest, his own son Omar and latter's counterpart from PDP, Mehbooba Mufti have been separately detained at two government owned villas in Chashmeshahi-Gupkar locality.
Other senior leader including Ali Mohammad Sagar, Sajad Lone, Tanveer Sadiq, Salman Sagar are also detained at Centaur hotel on the banks of Dal Lake. Despite repeated attempts the politician under question could not be contacted for comments.
