Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 1: Reluctant and miserably failed to provide timely study materials to its students, the Study Centre at University of Jammu on Monday made several dozen students to suffer who came from remotest areas of Jammu division including Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar and Gool-Arnas to submit their assignments. Gathered outside the study centre no. 1201 situated backside the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), University of Jammu, students told Early Times, they reached at the Centre on Monday morning (September 30), as it was last date as mentioned by the IGNOU. "The centre was closed, however, tried to contact to officials of the study centre, mentioned on notice board, but they didn't respond well", they said, adding that however, they assured us that the assignment would be accepted on Tuesday i.e. 1st October. It was not first time when IGNOU made to suffer its students, earlier, it was also alleged that they didn't get study material on time. Meanwhile, it has been learnt that today (Tuesday) assignments have been accepted by the study centre, but due to lack of communication on the part of IGNOU the students who had come from far flung areas were made to wait for a day, causing wastage of time and money. |
