| DC Kathua reviews preparations | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 1: In view of upcoming election of Chairpersons to the Block Development Councils, a meeting of Nodal Officers was today chaired by the District Panchayat Election Officer, Dr. Raghav Langer to discuss modalities for free and fair conduct of these crucial polls.
The DC sought a detailed report from Nodal officers about the arrangements being put in place for the elections in the district.
It was informed in the meeting that arrangements including water and power supply, accommodation for the polling parties, ramps etc are in place.
On the occasion, election training was also imparted to the election officers and other concerned officials by the master trainers.
The DPEO asked the concerned officers to ensure that the provisions of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) shall be strictly adhere to by all the stakeholders. He said that the provisions of MCC will apply to all the Panchayat Halqas (rural areas) and will be applicable to all the candidates, political parties along with the State and Central governments.
It was also informed that there shall be one polling station for one Block Development Council, and accordingly, polling stations have been set up in the district, one in each block where elections are being notified. |
