Saraswati Dramatic Club preserving intangible cultural heritage: Raman Suri

JAMMU, Oct 1: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Executive Member, Raman Suri today said management of Saraswati Dramatic Club under the dynamic Presidentship of Senior BJP leader and legislator Ashok Khajuria, is preserving and protecting our intangible cultural heritage in most appropriate manner that deserves accolades. He was speaking during the second day of Ramlila where he was the chief guest. Raman Suri said, with no support from government or any other agency the youth joined by aged and women drawn from all sections of society are doing a commendable job since decades by organising famous Ramlila of Billu Mandir that's thronged by thousands of people and devotees. Appreciating hard work done by artists, Raman Suri asked people to witness this historic Ramlila in large numbers.
Ram Leela that started with Saraswati Vandana was followed by scenes of Kailash Parvat, Shiv Rahasya and Ravan Vedvati. Actors Suresh Sharma, Naresh Abrol, Rajinder Singh, Meenal, Seema, Pawan Verma and Ram Magotra performed the acts under the directorship of Hira Lal Verma, Asst. Director Shiv Dev Singh, Stage Director Suresh Bharti and light and sound were managed by Rohit Dogra in collaboration with anchor Madan Rangeela. The BJP leader said Ram Lila that is performed during holy Navratras in the premises of Billu Mandir which is worth a watch and people must bring in their children to make them aware of their intangible heritage and culture. Ramlila of this temple is quite historic and its artists have perfected the art, where many are performing since decades.
