Shora of Peoples Movement is ignorant of the power of militants | | | Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), general secretary, Shehla Rashid Shora has alleged that Delhi was violating human rights in restive Kashmir region. Does she know that actually militants resort to human rights violations. And instead of Delhi she should have berated militants for human rights violations. But like other Kashmir centric politicians she too is scared of militants for inviting any attack on herself. Militants are pushed into Kashmir with weapons and ammunition and this way they are superior to even the security forces. Not in her book but she had berated the centre, Shora said, "The central government is infringing upon the religious rights of Amarnath yatris by forcing them to cut short their pilgrimage. It is a failure on part of the Modi government that, despite having hundreds of thousands of troops, despite putting massive curbs on civilian movement on highways, and despite having the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, the government is unable to ensure the safety of those devotees who want to perform their religious obligations! It shows the incompetence of the central government and its disregard for people's religious rights." Even one militant can disrupt the yatra and this was taken by the centre as a safety measure lest any pilgrims should be harmed Shora while criticizing the move to evacuate tourists and travellers from the valley said that it was unconstitutional and unlawful on part of the government to enter hotels and force travellers and visitors to leave. "Police personnel have entered hotels and forced them to turn out guests. As one tourist put it, this is a government-sponsored chaos! No law enforcement authority has an illigitimate powers vested in them by the Government of India. A couple of militants should have been able to disturb tourists, staying in hotels and houseboats. Why should Shora forget that the Pulwama attack was engineered by militants in which 46 security personnel were martyred and incidents on the similar pattern could have been carried out in routes to holy cave of Amarnath and threaten travellers and tourists. That is the reason that the Government of India curtailed the yatra and the tourists' stay. |
