Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 6: Continuing its tradition and commitment towards preserving & propagation of Kashmiri Pandit religio-cultural heritage, All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) conducted a mass yagnopavit ceremony of exiled community children, with all the traditional gaiety & rituals. The aim of this annual traditional exercise held in first week of October every year by ASKPC, is to strengthen the socio-cultural roots among community youth and also to reach out to the beleaguered community, this was stated by Advocate Ravinder Raina, President ASKPC, while speaking to the media fraternity on the occasion of the sacred thread ceremony. Conveying his gratitude & appreciation to the large & enthusiastic community participation in the function, President ASKPC stated that it also provided an opportunity for interaction among various community organizations and the feedback received would be a guiding beacon towards formulating a unified response of the exiled community in the face of changed political scenario in Jammu & Kashmir. He demanded that the Government should come up with a blueprint for rehabilitation of the community in the wake of abrogation of Article 370 & reorganization of the State and steps need to be taken to safeguard the interests of the community youth serving in the valley. The Yagnopavit ceremony was supervised by RK Wangnoo, senior vice president of ASKPC. Swami Kumar ji recited shlokas from Shrimad Bhagwat Gita and explained the significance of yagnopavit to the participants. Among the galaxy of community leaders who showered their blessings on the children, prominent were HN Jattu (AIKPC), BL Bhat (Nagdandi Ashram), Jai Kishen Kher (Shiv Shakti Sanstha), Ashok Kangan (Vikas Manch), Kuldeep Raina (Samaj Vikas Sanstha), MK Jalali (Sharika Peeth), Ramesh Hangloo (Radio Sharda), DN Kissu, PL Sudeshi and Prof GL Koul (All Employees Displaced United Front), TN Koul (TRT Muthi Phase II), MK Yogi (Minority NC Cell), MK Bangroo (veteran journalist), ML Bhat and Shiban Dhar (Samaj Sudhar Samiti). |
