KVK Reasi organises farmers Training Programme | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, Nov 26: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised farmers training programme on "Commercial Horticulture" here today at village Bharakh in Pouni block of Reasi district which was enthuastically attended number of farmers of the village. The programme was organized under the guidance of Director Extension and hon'ble Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-J, Dr.KS Risam. The programme was initiated by Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist& Head of KVK, Reasi with the warm welcome of the farmers. He said the farmers that production of sub-tropical fruits like mango, litchi, aonla, ber, orange, lemon etc. is low in the region although there is an immense potential of sub-tropical fruits crops. He suggested the farmers that by applying the new scientific horticultural technologies they can increase their fruit crops production. He stressed on the improved/hybrid varieties of sub-tropical fruits so that the fruit crops production can be increased in the area. He also emhasised on organic horticulture and guided the farmers for the use of biofertilisers, biofungicides, biopesticides, vermicompost etc. for the organic horticulture. He also explained the technologies for value addition in fruit crops.
