World Heritage Week concluded in Ramnagar | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Nov 26: The World Heritage Week organized by Vinod Singh Rawat Superintendent Archaeologist from Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Circle Srinagar at Sheesh Mahal Ramnagar district Udhampur concluded here with full enthusiasm and colorful cultural programme by the local students of Ramnagar. Farooq Qazi SDM Ramnagar was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the trophies and certificate among the winners who participated in quiz, painting, song, debate and dance competition. SDM Ramnagar along with other staff members of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) flag off the heritage walk from Ramnagar palace to Samadhi of Rani of Raja Suchet Singh. More than 200 students from different school of Ramnagar along with 42 students of New Era Environmental School from Jammu along with faculty members participated in the heritage walk. Dr Sonam Stanzin from Archaeological survey of India(ASI) interacted with students while heritage walk and told the importance of heritage sites and architecture of the time which tells the existence of our old civilization. Anil Paba a freelance archaeologists stressed on the need to preserve the monuments because the monuments provides the information about the past. And, this use of monuments is very important for human progress. He also appealed to the students to preserve our ancient culture and heritage as these are our Nations assets. |
