PWD clarifies status regarding development works | | | JAMMU, Mar 17: The Public Works Department has clarified its status regarding the news items published in the newspapers about the damaged and incomplete roads. The department has clarified that the protection work of the Gaddi Nangali Sahib road along with the Drungli Bridge could not be completed due to flash flood during rainy season and some stretch of road was washed away due to insufficient protection work along the river bank. It further said that restoration of protection work shall be proposed under the plan of 2020-21. The Department has also clarified that the Kamsar road is maintained by BRO and the Nakhanwali road is maintained by PWD (R&B) Poonch Division. Some roads in Poonch are damaged due to heavy rain and will be restored by the way of patch work in the month of April 2020. It also stated that the chowk on Nakhanwali road near Laxmi Narayan Temple is damaged due to blockage in Hume Pipe culvert and the restoration work will be started in a week’s time.
