| Secretary RDD tours District Udhampur | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Mar 17: In order to carry out the physical verification of works executed under MGNREGA during previous years and whose payments are pending as material liability, Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sheetal Nanda, conducted an extensive tour of district Udhampur here.
Director Rural Development Department, Jammu Sudershan Kumar Additional Secretary to Government, RD & PR Rakesh Badyal, ACD, Mushtaq Choudhary, Xen REW, Bashir Sheikh and other officers of RDD Udhampur accompanied the Secretary during the visit. During the tour, Secretary RDD inspected different works of block Narsoo. She visited Panchayat Dalah and Bali and inspected developmental works of community paths, protection works, lane and drains works, laying of tiles etc. She also ordered for re-measurement of works and comparing them with entries on measurement book. The BDOs were directed to expedite the pace of work and ensure timely completion.
Enroute, the Secretary RDD also inaugurated the works completed at Childrens Park in Panchayat Garnai built under 14th Finance Commission in presence of ADDC Udhampur Ashok Kumar and BDC Chairperson Udhampur Balwan Singh.
The Secretary said that the main objective of the visit was to review the progress of implementation of developmental schemes on the ground and their impact on the local level. The Secretary instructed the officers of concerned department to complete the ongoing works within the time frame without compromising the quality and leaving no scope for any complaint from any quarter. She called for enhancing synergy and cooperation between executing agencies and PRIs. |
