DIC Ramban launches IEC awareness campaign to prevent COVID-19

RAMBAN, Mar 17: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Nazim Zai Khan today launched Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign organised by the District Information Centre (DIC) to aware the public about measures suggested by the health authorities to prevent COVID-19. ADC, Ashok Sharma, CPO, Dr. Kasturi Lal, Account Officer, Tehsildar, Javaid Ahmad Naik were also present on the occasion.
The campaign was initiated by Department of Information and Public Relations in coordination with district administration across the district including towns alongside the national highway and sub-division headquarters.
The DDC lauded the efforts of Information Department Ramban for launching IEC awareness campaign besides educating the public through print, electronic and social media regarding orders and guidelines issued by the district administration to avert the spread of the virus.
Civil Quick Response Teams (QRT) of Ramban, Banihal, Ramsoo and Gool and various NGOs are participating in the campaign by to sensitizing the public in their respective areas about Do’s and Don’ts to prevent corona virus. The DDC also impressed upon the PRIs to participate in the drive and educate the masses in their jurisdictions besides advising the public to restrict their frequent visits to public places, markets and other crowded areas to avoid direct contact with any suspicious person.
