Over 500 unutilized industrial plots to be retrieved from influential entrepreneurs | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 19: Administration of the UT of J&K has taken very serious note those individuals who have been allotted plots at different industrial estates but they have not started their industry in these plots. While addressing meeting of the Board of Directors of JK SIDCO, K K Sharma, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor asked the authorities to allot these plots to others who have desired to start new projects. The Advisor while taking a serious notice of those entrepreneurs who have been allotted the plots and are yet to start their units maintained that they should be identified so that these can be allotted to new prospective and upcoming entrepreneurs. “Amnesty would also be considered to those who start their units at the earliest,” he added. Advisor has reason to take serious note of such entrepreneurs because nearly 500 industrial plots have been unutilised across J&K where some influential people have got plots allotted but yet not utilized. Credible sources said that in order to retrieve the unutilized land in the industrial estates, notices were served to influential landholders who have failed to take effective steps for establishment of units. Sharma directed for framing a comprehensive mechanism to effectively promote Small, Medium and Large scale industrial sector in the UT so that entrepreneurs are given the requisite ecosystem and effective implementation of various schemes is also ensured along with employment generation in UT. |
