Raghunath Temple, other religious places shut for devotees

Jammu, Mar 19: A day after pilgrimage to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine was suspended first time in the history after the formation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Board in 1986, Jammu and Kashmir Administration on Thursday ordered closure of famous Shri Raghunath Temple and other religious places for devotees as preventive measure in view of rising threat of Corona Virus.
In order to prevent corona virus from spreading, Jammu administration on Thursday ordered closure of all religious places till further orders including Shri Raghunath Temple, the largest in North India and ancient temple of Lord Ram.
The Jammu administration has appealed to the public to also maintain social distancing. The administration however, has closed all the crowded shrines till further orders.
Moreover all major gurudwaras, mosques and churches, including the Bahu Fort Temple locally known as "Bawe Wali Mata" Temple, Ranbireshwar temple, Peer Kho temple have also been closed till further orders.
The administration has held a meeting with all religious heads and appealed them to spread awareness on corona virus and do not allow large gathering during upcoming festivals especially the Navratras starting from March 25.
The devotees visiting to these religious places, after paying obeisance from outside, have welcomed the administration's decision and ensured to co-operate in fighting the pandemic.
