AAP demands to reduce petrol, diesel prices
3/19/2020 10:15:10 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 19: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has appealed the Union government to reduce the petrol and diesel prices in view of decrease in international price of petroleum products.
The Union government has hiked the Excise duty on petrol and diesel despite crude oil's consistently remaining down to less than 50 per cent and in the last few years central excise duty has been hiked more than a dozen times.
The International crude oil prices are at present the lowest in the last 15 years and the centre government should reduce the rates of petrol and diesel. It is possible to cut the petrol and diesel prices, because the price of crude oil continues to fall, then why not centre government reduce the petrol and diesel prices. The petrol and diesel prices are high and the farmers, common man, the middle class, the transporters and small and medium businesses were bearing the brunt of it, said AAP leader Gurmeet Singh.
The AAP J&K demanded that the benefit of reduced international crude oil prices should be redirected to the common people and the rates of petrol and diesel be reduced.
