Mayor JMC reviews cleanliness works of Canals

JAMMU, Mar 19: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Engineers of Irrigation & Flood Control Department concerned Contractor conducted the extensive tour of Akhnoor Road, Paloura etc and reviewed the ongoing disilting / cleaning work of Ranir Canal. Mayor directed the concerned for thorough cleanliness of all the Canals keeping in view the prevailing situation arising due to threat of Corona Virus in the whole World including J&K and asked them to assure that all the silt, mulba etc coming from Canals be immediately lifted from the roadside of the Canals so that general public do not face hardships while passing from the areas as the Jammu Municipal Corporation has already started sanitation drives, thermal fogging by deploying its men & machinery in all the wards of the JMC to cover the spread of this deadly disease in the city. Later Mayor along with Rajinder Singh Chib Distt. President Rural BJP, Tripta Devi, Councillor Ward No: 66, Tara Chand Mandal Vice President BJP, Sanjeev Mahajan AEE UEED and concerned Contractor toured in the areas near EWS Colony at Sector 1 and 2 adjoining Janipur Police Station and kick started the construction work of deep drains / nallahas which will be done by UEED at the estimate cost of Rs. 25.00 Lacs. This was the long pending demands of the residents of ward no: 66 as dirty water often overflows and enters in to the houses of people living there during Rainy Season.
