BARAMULLA, Mar 26: Three residents of Uri affiliated with Tablighi Jamaat suspected of COVID-19 were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla on Thursday. While as 62 people from Bandipora have been quarantined and three have been shifted to SKIMS.
Health officials in Uri said that the three persons who had a travel history and were in contact with the elderly Hyderpora Srinagar resident who tested positive for the virus two days back and passed away on Thursday morning.
"They had met in Jammu recently when they had gone for a Tablighi Jamaat," said a health official.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Uri Reyaz Ahmad Malik said that 28 people belonging to the areas like Daragutlian, Zamoor Patan, Kalsan, Chollan and Danhi Seydan who were found hiding their travel history were taken into the custody and sent to government established quarantine centre in JNV Shahkote Uri today.
It is learnt that 56 people have been kept in the government established quarantine centers in Uri sub-division so far. While as 85 others have been sent to home quarantine.
However, sources said that over more than 50 people who were suspected of being in contact with Covid-19 patient who died in Srinagar on Thursday morning were quarantined at two different places in North Kashmir's Bandipora district.
Medical Officer from Hajin, said that 45 family members of four Covid-19 patients who were tested positive yesterday were quarantined at one place of the district while 17 other people were kept in isolation at another place. He said that three suspected patients were shifted to SKIMS Srinagar.
More than 50 people including the family members of these patients were identified and quarantined, while as various teams of doctors conducted door-to-door inquiry about the locals in and around the Hajin area, which is the native town of 4 Covid-19 patients tested positive for Coronavirus infection yesterday.
The team of doctors visited over 100 households and collected details about the inmates. The team has identified scores of people who have come into contacted with the infected Coronavirus patients, and all these persons will be screened and quarantined, the health official said.
