Publicity hungry elements make mockery of helping needy | Make things difficult for genuine volunteers, social workers | | Early Times Report jammu, Apr 17: A few people making a mockery of helping the needy after the outbreak of COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir has put the sincere volunteers and others in a tight spot. An analyst while talking to Early Times said that besides some publicity hungry politicians and a few fake NGOs there are genuine people who want to help the needy. "These volunteers of different organizations which are involved in social work are facing lot of trouble due to unwarranted practices of a few people, who encash every opportunity to carry forward their own vested interests," the analyst added. It's in place to mention here that during the past few weeks many such events have come to fore, where the so-called social workers and politicians have taken pictures and recorded videos of them helping the needy. Later they uploaded these pictures and videos on the social media to tell the world that how generous they are. The government banning photography and videography has not stopped them from indulging in a showoff. He said that there are many NGOs, volunteers and politicians, who are doing a very good job in every corner of the country and their efforts have been lauded by one and all. "Administration should focus on the pseudo leaders and pseudo social workers rather than threatening the genuine people," the analyst said. An observer said, "A few people violating norms and not respecting the dignity of people whom they are helping in one way or another have brought disgrace to the entire society. They should understand the gravity of the situation and allow the genuine people to work in the field. It's still not too late. They can put their act together and stop indulging in publicity stunts to derive political mileage out of a pandemic, which is turning deadly with each passing day." He said, "There seems to be no end to COVID-19 and the experts are predicting that it can prolong." The UN Chief recently stated that world cannot return to normal till a vaccine comes out in the market. "It seems to be a long-drawn battle," the observer added. |
