Users take to twitter, share snapshots of pathetic internet speed, urge Govt to intervene

Early Times Report
jammu, Apr 17: BSNL already infamous for its erratic services in Jammu and Kashmir has once again put its subscribers in dire straits with extremely low speed of broadband internet services leaving people in disarray amid the current lockdown.
When the government, semi-government, autonomous and private firms have asked their employees to work from home, reliable broadband internet is the only medium by virtue of which such an objective could have been achieved.
However, BSNL is once again in the news for its extremely poor and erratic services. Its customer service helpline is dysfunctional and so are its Toll Free numbers like 18002451500 through which a broadband user is ought to register his/her grievance pertaining to the internet connection.
People from several districts of Jammu and Kashmir are up in arms due to BSNL's style of functioning and leaving its large subscriber base in doldrums when it needed the telco's services the most.
Angered, aggrieved and disgruntled with the way BSNL in Jammu and Kashmir has failed to deliver in times of current crises, people are now venting their anger on social media.
On the micro-blogging site, Twitter, people in large numbers are tagging the official handle of BSNL JK, castigating it for the erratic services and questionable customer service. Few days ago, a BSNL Broadband user uploaded the snapshot of the speed BSNL was offering him in the name of broadband internet. "Dear @BSNL_JK Please have some mercy on us. 110 kbps for a broadband? this is incorrigible," wrote the user. A few days later, he posted that the telecom has snapped the connection in entirety and he has no one to complain to at present. "I have complained several times. The customer care executive is not available to speak. Now, broadband has stopped working while the landline is functional. The complaint no. is 1050043329"
Other BSNL Broadband users too rued over the pathetic services. "BSNL was designed for only landline and 2G. My broadband speed is very low, my plan speed is 10Mbps and I get less than 1Mbps please fix it," wrote users on BSNL JK's official twitter handle.
Reacting to the information, this official handle shared about OS and digital cameras, a user sarcastically targeted BSNL for its failing services. "We know this and a lot more, but what you don't know is how to run your network, which is why it is in shambles today."
Meanwhile, users across the Union Territory have urged the Jammu and Kashmir administration to redress the mounting concerns pertaining to the questionable functioning of the state-owned telecom company.
