DC Anantnag asked to sort-out differences among health officials | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report
Anantnag, May 2: A top official of Jammu and Kashmir Government on late Friday evening asked Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Bashir Ahmad Dar to sort-out differences among top health officials of the department for providing better facilities to the people of the district. “Keep them (Health department officials) on your right and left and sort-out their differences,” the top official told Deputy Commissioner Anantnag during video conference that was apparently conveyed to review the situation. Highly placed sources told Early Times that the Jammu and Kashmir Government was aware of the fact that internal bickering between Health Department officials and Government Medical College Anantnag officials was the main reason for ‘mismanagement’ of the situation in the district. “Top officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Government mentioning it during video conference highlights the fact that the government at top most level was aware about the activities of all officers presently posted in Anantnag,” they said, adding the government was also aware that they weren’t fully cooperating with Deputy Commissioner Anantnag. Sources also revealed that those officers, presently posted in Anantnag and assigned special duties, were also under the scanner of Jammu and Kashmir Government for deliberately causing ‘confusion’ at different levels. The administration in Anantnag isn’t working at a pace because the officers, who are supposed to coordinate and cooperate with Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, were not working as per requirement of prevailing situation, they added. “Some remain busy with watching old Indo-Pak cricket matches while as most of the district level officers haven’t joined their offices or resumed duties,” insiders claimed. It is worth to mention here that health officials while recently grilled by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for ‘negligent behavior’ during a meeting and had directed to enhance facilities to the people in the district. He had also directed them to kick-start massive screening exercise in the district. As reported earlier, the internal bickering among health officials is hitting hard the district and its health care. “From last few years the department have groomed juniors and had given them prized postings while as seniors are working against the non-exiting posts,” an officer said while spelling out the reasons of internal bickering. “There is no scoop for hard working and dedicated officers,” he added. Another officer claimed that the government had trusted ‘incompetent’ officers upon and that was the main reason for mismanagement and internal bickering. |
