Mayor inspects various development works by UEED | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 14: Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta and Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted an extensive tour to review the development works being undertaken by UEED on various nallahs of Jammu city. Parmod Kapahi, councilor Ward No 14, Sat Pal Karloopia, councilor Ward No 32, Sucha Singh Councilor Ward No 31, Ashwani Seth Executive Engineer UEED, concerned Assistant Executive Engineer as well as Junior Engineer UEED were also present during the tour. The Councilors raised the vital issues of inhabitants of their wards for completing of nallahs / deep drains on priority to give relief to the public as dirty water often remains stagnant, overflows and enters into the residential areas causes lot of damage to the life & property of the inhabitants of the locality and it is their long pending demands to complete the construction of these nallahs. During the tour Mayor took stock of construction work of the nallahas flowing from Bhagwati Nagar towards Municipal Sewerage Treatment Plant of Ward No 31 which is being executed at the estimate cost of Rs 5 crore approximately by the UEED. Then the team also inspected the construction work of deep drains / nallahs flowing near Sunder Nagar Talab Tillo at the estimate cost of Rs 3.8 crore only. Mayor directed the engineers of UEED and concerned contractors to complete the left over construction work of these prestigious Nallahas well before coming rainy season by adopting proper Social Distancing so that the genuine grievances of the residents of these particular areas may be redressed on permanent basis.
