Handwara narco-terror dons close to Kashmir politician!
6/15/2020 12:31:16 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 14: Even as the Jammu and Kashmir Police achieved a breakthrough by unearthing a major Pakistan sponsored narco-terror module in Handwara area of north Kashmir, sources said the dons have been close to a politician from the same Kupwara district.
Sources said some of those arrested in connection with case have been seen as “aides of the politician who has also remained a minister in the past.”
Sources said the said dons used to enjoy good relations with the said politician in the past. Sources said the said dons used to be active during election campaigning and many people would visit their residence for some “financial benefits”. Sources said the huge haul of cash was recovered from the possession of the same dons who had stored the money in secret room.
“The room was bigger than that chest of a bank,” said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
As per a senior police official, apart from cash worth Rs 1.34 Crore, contraband Heroine weighing 21Kgs (worth 100 Crore market value) and a cash counting machine were recovered from their possession.
“Why would such a group need cash counting machine, this means money transaction of drug deals had been so huge and regular much like some bank,” said a senior police official on the condition of anonymity.
The police in a statement have identified the arrested narco-terror associates as Syed Iftikhar Indrabi son of Syed Ateequlla Indrabi resident of Laribal Rajwar Handwara, Abdul Moomin Peer and Islam Ul Haq Peer sons of Mohd Ashraf Peer both residents of Waskura Handwara.
Police said the accused during interrogation have revealed names of other persons as well whose hunt has been started by the police.
“The module was in close connection with Pakistan based terror handlers and was involved in drug trade & assisting financially to active terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT. The recoveries also exposed the nexus between drug dealers and terrorists,” the police had said.
When contacted a senior police official said the matter was under investigation and no one linked to drugs or terror will be spared.
