Baramulla, June 14: Out of 163, Fifteen fresh positive cases were reported, 508 are active positive cases, 14 recovered and 16 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir till today. According to the district wise positive cases as on June 14, 2020, In Baramulla district, 03 fresh positive cases were reported today, total no of cumulative cases are 515, active positive cases are 338, 02 have recovered as on date and 11 deaths have occurred so far in this district. In Kupwara district, 09 fresh positive cases have been reported today, 397 are cumulative cases, 106 are active positive cases, 11 have recovered as on date, and 04 deaths have occurred so far. In Bandipora district, there are 03 fresh positive cases today, whereas 239 are cumulative cases, 64 are active positive, 01 has recovered as on date and 01 death have occurred so far. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Ravinder Kumar on Sunday appealed to the people of Bandipora town to cooperate with the medical teams dealing with COVID by presenting themselves for testing for the wellbeing of the society. He said this during an interaction with the people at Ward-05 and Ward-06 declared as Red zones after detection of positive cases in the area. Kumar said the people should stay indoors in these areas and voluntarily come forward for testing adding that there are apprehensions that positive cases may have engaged with neighbors and friends and transmitted the virus. After imposing strict restrictions in the red zones of the town, DC called for its strict implementation to avoid spread of the virus and warned of strict action against the persons violating restriction orders and those who try to skip testing. Later the Deputy Commissioner also visited Bandipora market and directed the officers to ensure the precautionary measures are taken by the shopkeepers including use of masks, availability of sanitizers and keeping a record of customers visiting their shops. Kumar said advisories have been issued from time to time to the public to use masks and now it appears expedient to reiterate those directions in the interest of health of the general public.
