JKTF discusses burning issues of teaching community | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 28: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum held through videoconferencing under the chairmanship of Ganesh Khajuria, State Chairman, and attended by the Central Body members of JKTF, various burning issues of the Teaching Community of School Education Deptt were discussed. After the threadbare deliberations & discussions, the Forum urged to the LG of UT of J&K to personally intervene to resolve the following issues at the earliest a large chunk of the Rehbar-e-khel teachers were engaged in the Govt Schools to perform the duties of the Physical Education Teachers (P.E.T’s) under the policy of the State Government on the meager honorarium of Rs. 3000/= p.m. which is a cruel joke with these highly qualified professionals who are rendering their services to the School Education Department as well as the Deptt of Youth Services & Sports. The Forum very earnestly request to the Higher authorities to frame a clear-cut policy for the regularisation of the R-e-K cadre against the posts of the Physical Education Teachers to safeguard the interests of the Students in general and the R-e-K teachers in particular and implement the Minimum Wages Act in their favour till they are regularised against the clear vacancies. The Daily Wagers, Casual Workers, CPW’s& other need based workers are struggling hard since the last so many years but nothing concrete has been done on the ground by the State Govt except the hollow assurances despite the written agreement by the State Government with the Employees organizations . The revocation of SRO-202 should be applied in toto in its letter & spirit in favour of all the employees who have been appointed under the provisions of this SRO_202 since its inception in order to provide the justice to these ignored employees who have been deprived of their legitimate rights by the successive governments on the one pretext or the other. |
