Teachers Forum urges LG to intervene, solve problems at earliest

Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 28: The Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum has urged the LG to personally intervene to resolve the following issues at the earliest. The Forum said that large chunk of the Rehbar-e-khel teachers were engaged in the Govt Schools to perform the duties of the Physical Education Teachers (P.E.T's) under the policy of the State Government on the meagre honorarium of Rs. 3000 per month adding that the same is a cruel joke.
The Forum has requested the higher authorities to frame a clear-cut policy for the regularization of the R-e-K cadre against the posts of the Physical Education Teachers to safeguard the interests of the students in general and the R-e-K teachers in particular and implement the Minimum Wages Act in their favour till they are regularized against the clear vacancies.
The Forum said that daily wagers, casual workers, CPW's& other need based workers are struggling hard since the last so many years but nothing concrete has been done on the ground by the government except the hollow assurances despite the written agreement by the government with the employees’ organizations.
The Forum said that revocation of SRO-202 should be applied in toto in its letter & spirit in favour of all the employees who have been appointed under the provisions of this SRO_202 since its inception in order to provide the justice to these ignored employees who have been deprived of their legitimate rights by the successive governments on the one pretext or the other.
