VIJAYPUR, July 14: Expressing anguish over the unscheduled power cuts in Vijaypur, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) has appealed Lt Governor to intervene since people have been put to unnecessary hardships. “The Vijaypur is facing unscheduled power cuts for 18 hours in a day and it has also hampered water supply amid the hot summer weather conditions,” said former president, Municipal Committee, and Councilor of Ward Number 10 in Vijaypur, Nikki Mahajan. Senior leader of JKAP from Vijaypur, Mahajan was addressing a press conference in Vijaypur. In his interaction with the media, he said, the power cuts have increased to unprecedented manner in which only some hours electricity is being supplied in Vijaypur. The normal life has been thrown out of gear due to the power cuts in Vijaypur town and adjoining villages due to lack of capacity in the receiving station, Mahajan said. Mahajan demanded that the receiving station should be enhanced to double capacity in Vijaypur.
