Leaking supply line exposes negligence of PHE Deptt | Water continues to go waste, authorities mum | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 14: At a time when summer season is at its peak and people are suffering from scorching sun but Jal Shakti (PHE) Department seems to be least bothered to maintain water supply due to its negligence which can be gauged from the fact that at many places its supply pipelines have developed leakages and thousands of liters of water goes waste on daily basis. The picture speaks the volume of Jal Shakti (PHE) Department’s negligence and exposes its tall claims of fixing all leakages during lockdown so that water supply to houses may not suffer but on the contrary there is a huge leakage in main water supply line at Shakti Nagar area near cremation ground. “A large quantity of water continues to flow in open due to leakage. Although this point is in very streamline place yet the department can’t see it. The issue was brought into the notice of concerned department but nobody took action to repair it. The department had made very tall claims before the onset of summer season that all leakages had been repaired, which proved totally false,” the local residents informed. Already very short supply is being provided to the houses by the Department due to huge curtailment of power and now such leakages have made the problem more aggravated, they alleged. |
