Tourism deptt's cafeteria gutted in fire in Anantnag | | | Early Times Report
ANANTNAG, July 14: A cafeteria owned by the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department at Cheeniwader Srigufwara Village of South Kashmir's Anantnag gutted in mysterious fire on early Tuesday morning. According to reports, the cafeteria went up in flames at around 2:00 am in the morning. The cafeteria, officials said, the unit has been completely damaged. In the morning, a police team went to the spot and began investigating the fire incident. "We have taken cognizance of the fore incident and started investigations," a police officer told Early Times. An FIR under section 436 IPC number 60/2020 has been registered at Police Station Srigufwara. “Investigations are on to ascertain the cause of fire,” the official said. Tourism Department officials also visited the spot and reported to their higher officials about the incident. Meanwhile, Early Times learnt from reliable sources that the employees who were posted at the Cheeniwader Apple Resort weren't present on duty at the time of the incident. Sources revealed that the police have detained employees for questioning. The Apple Valley Resort was thrown open for public in 2018 and the cafeteria and other shops were outsourced by the department to a section of people.
