Jammu, July 14: Raj Kumar Banathia, Chairman of General Category Peoples’ Forum Jammu convened a meeting of the Forum to discuss in detail the socio-economic and political problems being faced by the people. The meeting was joined by Yash Paul Sanson, Som Nath Sharma, V.K. Sharma, Deepak Khajuria, Kuldeep Raj Verma, Dr. Bansi Lal and Bhushan Pargal, all members of the Core Committee of the Forum. Speaking on the occasion, Banathia said that Govt. has failed to come to the expectations of the people to improve electricity and water supply, health, educational and other amenities, check corruption, People were hoping for an ameliorate of conditions during U.T. administration. Govt. has earned bad name for imposing heavy taxes and tolls and has failed to take due cognizance of alarming worries of people. The people are facing economic hardships because of Corona Virus and tax terrorism launched by the Govt. Yash Paul Sanson, Forum President said that traditional national and regional parties must shun taking the people for granted. The people are getting fed up with the anti-people policies and indifferent behavior of political leaders toward people. He demanded that State-subject certificate holders be exempted from Domicile Certificate. State Subject Certificates be considered as Domicile Certificate for all purposes. Som Nath Sharma, Forum Gen. Secretary stressed for total abolition of reservation and sought special support measures (SSM) for the upliftment of economically and educationally backward families. |
