| Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department visits GDC Khour | | | Jammu, July 21: Commissioner/Secretary Higher Education Department inspected the ongoing construction work of Girls Hostel, Canteen and Toilet Block of GDC Khour. He issued the instructions to the executing agencies to complete the construction work within time frame by maintaining the quality. He inspected the College Library and directed to subscribe more magazines and journals for the College Library for the exposure of the students. He interacted with the Principal and staff of the College and acknowledged their work for the growth of the College. Vikas Deputy Secretary HED interacted with Dr. Devika Sharma Convener Career Counselling and suggested her to start short career based courses to enhance employment opportunities for the students. While speaking to media persons, he revealed that Rupees 2 Crore has been sanctioned for the construction of Pre-fabricated Structure (3 Classrooms and 4 Labs with Verandah) to start Science Stream from the Academic Session 2021-22. During the visit, he also inaugrated Three Day Plantation drive being organised by NSS and NCC units of the College by planting a sapling. He was accompanied by Deputy Secretaries (Career Counselling & Digital Technology) Higher Education Department, Nodal Principal Jammu, AEE (R&B), AEE Housing Board and Tehsildar Khour. Security arrangments were made by SHO Khour.
