Jammu, July 21: The insensitive approach adopted by the Police during the protest held today by Congress leaders and workers against operationalization of Lakhanpur Toll Plaza in Kathua district can be gauged from the fact that as there was no women police to handle the women protestors. Moreover open violation of social distancing norms by the Congress activists was witnessed during the protest. As per reports, the Congress leaders and workers today gathered at Lakhanpur, where inauguration of Toll Plaza was held, and staged a protest against the installation of Toll Plaza. During protest demonstration, the Congress leaders attempted to march towards the Toll Plaza, who were stopped by the police but absence of women police raised a finger on the arrangement of local police, when a woman Congress leader was seen stopped by male police officer. “It is very important that woman police should be present at every place where protest is held, but it was very absurd to see that our woman leader was handled by a police officer instead of a woman police, which shows the insensitivity of the local police,” Congress workers alleged. Not only this, even social distancing norms were not maintained by the Congress activists, which again raises the finger on the police, which could not ensure the compliance of guidelines. Even the protestors, who were arrested, were seen violating norms in the bus, in which they were being taken to a police station. |
