India is the land of great sufis, saints, sages, preachers and philosophers. It is known for its culturally rich heritage and cosmopolitan world recognized values and teaching. Since time immemorial many great philosophers and thinkers had contributed here for the welfare of mankind through their teaching and guidance. Whole mankind is indebted to such great personalities for their outstanding role and contribution for the welfare of humanity on this planet. The knowledge of Ayurveda and yoga are two such great gifts which our great philosophers and Vedic texts has given to the whole mankind on this planet.
The eternal knowledge of yoga which is mentioned in our Vedic texts (5000 years old) is still relevant and helpful for whole mankind. Yoga at present time plays the role of a true torchbearer of the society.
Every year on 21 ist of June international yoga day has been celebrated across the world. On this day at many platforms mass yoga session and events organised by the people in different countries of the world. Here in India lot of enthusiasm and passion can be seen everywhere in public feeling on this special day.our prime minister who is also perpetual of practicing the yoga in his daily life participate in this great event with mass gathering of yoga lovers.No doubt it was due to the efforts of our prime minister now we have got the prestige of celebrating this day as the international yoga day.Earlier Swamivivekananda has played his pivotal role in spreading this knowledge of yoga to the world. He has introduced the world community about the hidden power and magic of yoga In his chicago conference he got the opportunity to aware the world about this hidden art and knowledge. In modern time Swami Ram dev is doing a marvellous and astounding job in spreading this knowledge of yoga among the people of this region as well as at world platform. Yoga is not merely a physical excercise which is beneficial for our body but it is needed for our spiritual and mental satisfaction as well.Now a days when we are facing lot of psychological disorders like stress,misery, depression and anxiety due to our hectic life schedule and wrong eating habits, the yoga can give us a complete satisfaction in our life. Earlier generally people were engaged in many type of manual works in their daily life.Moreover their diet was also very nutrious and without any inorganic materials. But now a days we are taking lot of adulterated and junk ingredients in our diet which have no caloriefic value .Also due to advancement in industrialization and machine era we are very much dependent on these gadgets for our comfort and leisure . Such sessile and stagnant life style is responsible for our poor and impoverished health.
Under such circumstances only yoga can give us lot of physical comfort in our life.Yoga stimulate various stress releasing hormones in our body which is beneficial for our health . Moreover there is zero cost investment in practising yoga in one’s life.Yoga is very helpful in removing various kinds of stress and depression from our mind .It is the panacea for all health ailments. It is beneficial for all age groups of people.By practising continuously yoga in our life we can safe our life from many health ailments and stress.In this hectic life schedule and stressful life we got many health related problems. Yoga helps not only in improvement of health problems but also helps us in eradicating various psychological disorders from our mind.At present we are fighting with global pandemic of covid 19 viral attack. Everyone is confined and lockdown within the vicinity of home .At this crucial moment only yoga can help us in boosting our morale and immunity. yoga can also help us in this direction by improving our body immunity towards such viral infection which is the prerequisite against this pandemic spread.Because by continuance breathing excercise we can make our lungs stronger which is beneficial in fighting against corona attack.Because as we know the covid 19 viral attack is more specific on our lungs and respiratory system of the body.Every year we have spent huge amount of our money on expensive medicines and other life saving drugs. These allopathic medicines have lot of side effects on our body.Regular yogic excercise can help us in removing various kinds of minor health ailments without any intake of such costly drugs and medicines.
There is some wrong notion in the minds of our religious sections that yoga is particularly a religion focussed .It is our baseless and ridiculous religious belief. In sanskrit yoga means to unite.yoga unite every religion. It unite our body and soul with eternal supreme power.yoga brings disciplined in our life through its meditation strategy and alignment. Yoga is a divine knowledge and is designed for the welfare of all mankind.we should avoid such kind of ignorant and cynical approach in this direction. Now every nation of the world has realised the basic truth of this divine art . Even in western countries people are following and practicing this art in their life without any controversy .lot of yogic centres has been established at different corner of the world.Now at college and school level yoga classes has been started as a part of the curriculum. It is very mandatory and genuine initiative of the government to make this content as the part of general curriculum. Basically it is the need of the hour to make this content as a part of every academic institution in their curriculum design.Because by practising and teaching yoga at the very beginning of students life we can change the mindset of children towards various positive aspects. We know that now a days mostly children are engaged in various kinds of digital games and other inactive brain stressing activities. They are totally unaware about the health hazards of such activities and indoor specific mind games. Yoga can bring drastic change in their body and mind .By practising yoga in their life they can make their life more disciplined and joyful.Real joy of life can be felt only when one possesses all aspects of health in a proper coordination. Yoga brings coordination and articulation in different senses.
This year international yoga day will be celebrated within the restricted atmosphere by following the protocol of physical distancing due to corona pandemic .lets participate in this event and make this day a unique opportunity to overcome from the deadly attack of covid 19 pandemic .After all it is (yoga) is the true and indispensable gift of India’s to the world.
