Anantnag, Aug 28: An 18 year old Bangladeshi girl has gone missing from Quarantine Center in South Kashmir’s Anantnag, officials told Early Times on Friday. The girl, who had entered India illegally this year in the month of March, was under medical observation at Akura in the Quarantine Center as she had tested positive for COVID-19. “The girl was taken into custody as she had entered India illegally in March via Bangladeshi border without valid travel documents (a visa and passport). She was later handed over to the Child Welfare Committee as per law,” an official said. He said that the missing girl was subsequently shifted to Akura Quarantine Center. “She left the Quarantine Center on 26th of August and is missing since then,” he added. Anantnag Police, they said, have registered a case and a manhunt has been initiated to trace the missing Bangladeshi national. |
