Ramnagar, Aug28: On 6th day of the workshop on “Career Awareness and Role of Physical Education for Healthy Lifestyle” Mukesh Sharma, organizing secretary of the workshop began the session with the welcome note. The topic of the session was “How to assess present health status and daily exercise required to attain the good health”. Dr. SoneshPoonia, Sports officer, Govt. College Aron, Guna (MP) was the chairperson on this occasion. Dr. Poonia is a yoga specialist, with a degree of BPED, MPED, PhD from Lakshmibai NationalInstitute of Physical Education, Gwalior (LNIPE). Dr. Poonia also has a good research experience in the field of physical education and yoga. As per Dr. Sonesh Poonia, health is a combination of physical and mental well-being. The four important determinants of health are nutrition, lifestyle, environment and genetics. How health indicators can be used for assessing the health status of a person was also highlighted. In daily routine, the two types of exercise that is aerobic and anerobic should be included to make one’s body healthy. The chairperson also throws a light on increased importance of physical activity especially during this pandemic time as most of the work now a days is being carried out on online platform. A small amount of physical activity will be beneficial not only in keeping us physically fit but also in improving our concentration, focus, and mental well-being. Afterwards, Prof. Ritika Mahajan, H.O.D Chemistry, GDC Ramnagar interacted with the chairperson on the issues being faced during this pandemic time. The session was ended later by her concluding remarks and vote of thanks to all those present in the session.
