Dir Horticulture distributes participation certificates | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 14: Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Sevak distributed participation certificates to 28 women on the conclusion of 30 days food processing training at Data Talab village Samba district. During the programme, Director Horticulture stressed that the food processing is an important industry of the world but here in jammu very less fruits and vegetables are processed and there is great scope for its further expansion. He elaborated that under Mission for integrated development of Horticulture scheme one lakh incentive can be provided to interested participants for purchase of small scale machinery requirements needed for initial setting up these small scale pickle, jam and murraba units. After the completion of the programme, Director Horticulture visited nearby private orchards along with his team and imparted onspot important instructions to the orchardists for improvement of both quality and quantity of fruits in private orchards. All the important schemes of the department was discussed in detail. On the spot farmers were asked to go for bore wells, where subsidy is Rs 90000 to Rs 2 lakhs as per feasibility. Similarly for encouraging quality packaging of fruits department provides pack houses where subsidy is Rs 2 lakhs. Schemes of drip irrigation and IPM and INM were also discussed. Programme was also attended by Chief Canning instructor Jammu, chief Horticulture officer Jammu and various other officers of samba district. |
