Dharmarth Trust employees launch 'Jan Jagran Abhiyan' | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 19: Continuing their agitation on 19th day, Dharmarth Trust employees on Thursday started 'Jan Jagran' in support of employees' demands to merge all the temples under Dharmarth Trust with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. A large number of Dharmarth Trust employees including priests of Shri Raghunath Mandir, Hari Bhawan Purmandal, Uttar Behani, Birpur, Kashmir unit and Sudhmahadev assembled under the banner of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association (DTEA) and raised slogans against the Dharmarth Trust management. Speaking on the occasion, President of the Association, Vivek Bandral and senior member, Rajinder Shastri besides ex-General Secretary, Pritam Sharma and ex-president, Karnail Chand said that they submitted charter of demands to trust management but instead of holding talks and settle the demands of the employees they suspended Association President, General Secretary and office bearer with malafide attention and revengeful attitude to crush the trade union activities. "We demand that govt should constitute an independent Board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust and take over all property moveable and immoveable from the person having control on trust," they said. They also requested Lt Governor to appoint a high level government officer as receiver till the constitution of Board for the Dharmarth Trust. They also demanded a clear audit of all the property of the temples under the Dharmarth trust till date as we have noticed over Rs 15,000 crore scam in the Trust. Association will intensify their agitation by starting a 'pen and tool down' strike from tomorrow, association members said and asked all Pujaris to perform puja and other rituals before participating in the protest. Association appealed to all political parties, religion activists and traders associations to support this noble cause and save the heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. |
