SRINAGAR, Dec 19: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 301 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 18,006. The death toll due to the virus reached 1,837 with four deaths being reported in past 24 hours. Jammu district in Jammu division reported 97 new cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 61 cases, Baramulla, Pulwama and Kathua districts 14 cases each, Budgam, Bandipora and Ramban districts 11 cases each, Anantnag district 10 cases, Rajouri district nine cases, Samba and Reasi districts eight cases each, Kupwara and Doda districts seven cases each, Udhampur district six cases, Ganderbal district five cases, Poonch district four cases, Shopian district two cases and Kulgam & Kishtwar districts one case each. Samba district in the Jammu division reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Kathua district in Jammu division and Bandipora district in the Kashmir valley. So far 1,165 people have lost their lives to the virus in Kashmir valley while in Jammu division 672 such deaths have taken place up to this date. The Jammu & Kashmir administration thought the media bulletin informed that 301 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 165 from Jammu division and 136 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 18,006. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and one from Kashmir division. Moreover, 465 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 184 from Jammu division and 281 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 18,006 positive cases, 4,076 are active positive, 1, 12,093 have recovered and 1,837 have died; 672 in Jammu division and 1,165 in Kashmir division. Out of 35, 03,197 test results available, 33, 85,191 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 44,083 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,051 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,076 in isolation and 27,394 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 90,725 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 24,681 positive cases, 882 active positive, 23,358 recovered, 441 deaths; Baramulla has 7,821 positive cases, 176 active positive, 7,475 recovered, 170 deaths; Budgam has 7,412 positive cases, 225 active positive, 7081 recovered, 106 deaths; Kupwara has 5,433 positive cases, 167 active positive, 5,178 recovered, 88 deaths; Pulwama has 5,406 positive cases, 195 active positive, 5,123 recovered, 88 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,739 positive cases, 152 active positive, 4,505 recovered, 82 deaths; Bandipora has 4,602 positive cases, 99 active positive, 4,445 recovered, 58 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,407 positive cases, 123 active positive, 4,242 recovered, 42 deaths; Kulgam has 2,638 positive cases, 62 active positive, 2,523 recovered, 53 deaths and Shopian has 2,446 positive cases, 80 active positive, 2,329 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 22,757 positive cases, 809 active positive, 21,606 recovered, 342 deaths; Udhampur has 4,008 positive cases, 163 active positive, 3,790 recovered, 55 deaths; Rajouri has 3,764 positive cases, 235 active positive, 3,475 recovered, 54 deaths; Doda has 3,338 positive cases, 101 active positive, 3,177 recovered, 60 deaths; Kathua has 3,092 positive cases, 98 active positive, 2,946 recovered, 48 deaths. “Kishtwar has 2,701 positive cases, 84 active positive, 2,596 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2,671 positive cases, 206 active positive, 2,429 recovered, 36 deaths; Poonch has 2,430 positive cases, 26 active positive, 2,382 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 2,071 positive cases, 63 active positive, 1,987 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,589 positive cases, 130 active positive, 1,446 recovered, 13 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 18,006 positive cases, 11,087 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
