SAMBA, Dec 25: In its drive against drug smugglers and its propagators, District Police Samba has arrested three Punjab based narcotics smugglers and recovered about 70 kgs of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) along with cash Rs 1.5 lacs at Police naka Nud in the jurisdiction of PS Samba.
A Police Party of PS Samba while performing vehicle checking duty at naka Nud, Samba intercepted a truck bearing Regd. No PB11BU-5846 which was coming from Kashmir side and moving towards Samba via Udhampur- Mansar road.
During thorough checking of the said vehicle, Poppy Straw (Bhukki) weighing about 70 kgs was recovered along with cash of Rs 1.5 lakh. The accused persons identified as Jaswinder Lal S/o Joga Lal R/O Boparai Kalan-Nakodar, Jalandhar, Gurtej Singh S/o Charan Lal R/O Pukhowal-Raikot, Ludhiana and Neeraj Kumar S/o Bhinder R/O Pousa-Garhshankar, Hoshiarpur have been arrested on spot and contraband item along with cash were also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 348/2020 U/S 8/15/27/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba and further investigation started. |
