Active cases of COVID-19 in JK come down to 2.85%; 284 new cases, one fresh death | Positive cases 119628, active positive 3414, recovered 114353, casualties 1861 | | Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Dec 25: There are 2.85 percent active cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir and the recovery rate has reached 95.50 percent. The positive cases reached 1, 19,628 following 284 new cases and the death toll reached 1861 with one death being reported in past 24 hours. Jammu district reported 96 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 65 cases, Budgam district 32 cases, Pulwama district 18 cases, Kathua district 12 cases, Doda district 11 cases, Baramulla and Kupwara districts nine cases each, Udhampur district eight cases, Rajouri district seven cases, Samba district five cases, Ganderbal district three cases, Anantnag, Ramban and Reasi districts two cases each and Bandipora, Kulgam & Poonch districts one cases each. Baramulla district in Kashmir valley reported one virus related death in past 24 hours following which the total number of casualties reached 1,861. So far 1,175 virus related deaths have occurred in the Kashmir valley while in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 686. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 284 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 144 from Jammu division and 140 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 19,628. Also one COVID-19 death has been reported from Kashmir division. Moreover, 409 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 220 from Jammu division and 189 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 19,628 positive cases, 3,414 are active positive, 1, 14,353 have recovered and 1,861 have died; 686 in Jammu division and 1,175 in Kashmir division. Out of 36, 67,726 test results available, 35, 48,098 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 61,964 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 17,687 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,414 in isolation and 27,858 in home surveillance. Besides, 8, 11,144 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 24,996 positive cases, 595 active positive, 23,957 recovered, 444 deaths; Baramulla has 7,896 positive cases, 152 active positive, 7,573 recovered, 171 deaths; Budgam has 7,525 positive cases, 192 active positive, 7,226 recovered, 107 deaths; Pulwama has 5,489 positive cases, 187 active positive, 5,214 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,485 positive cases, 142 active positive, 5,253 recovered, 90 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,754 positive cases, 104 active positive, 4,567 recovered, 83 deaths; Bandipora has 4,624 positive cases, 77 active positive, 4,488 recovered, 59 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,444 positive cases, 104 active positive, 4,297 recovered, 43 deaths; Kulgam has 2,651 positive cases, 69 active positive, 2,529 recovered, 53 deaths and Shopian has 2,473 positive cases, 89 active positive, 2,347 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 23,339 positive cases, 848 active positive, 22,141 recovered, 350 deaths; Udhampur has 4,062 positive cases, 96 active positive, 3,909 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,812 positive cases, 215 active positive, 3,543 recovered, 54 deaths; Doda has 3,367 positive cases, 84 active positive, 3,222 recovered, 61 deaths; Kathua has 3,144 positive cases, 71 active positive, 3,025 recovered, 48 deaths. “Kishtwar has 2,714 positive cases, 35 active positive, 2,658 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2,713 positive cases, 246 active positive, 2,429 recovered, 38 deaths; Poonch has 2,438 positive cases, 26 active positive, 2,390 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 2,085 positive cases, 38 active positive, 2,026 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,617 positive cases, 44 active positive, 1,559 recovered, 11 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 19,628 positive cases in J&K, 11,215 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
