Samba police nabs three with poppy straw, cash | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 25: Police on Friday arrested three persons with contraband of poppy straw and cash in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police sources here said that during routine checking, early morning on Friday intercepted a truck near Nud. "On specific inputs, nakka was laid at Nud and a Punjab registration truck was intercepted," police sources added. They said that during frisking, 75-kg poppy straw and cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh was recovered from the vehicle and three persons identified as Jaswinder Lal of Nakodar, Jalandhar, Gurtej Singh of Raikot, Ludhiana and Neeraj Kumar Hoshiarpur, were apprehended and the truck was seized. A case has been registered and investigation started. |
