Early Times Report

Poonch, Jan 27: A resident of village Quasaba of Poonch district has accused some officials of the Rural Development Department Poonch for taking money for allotment of Panchayat works and subsequently for issuance of payment but shockingly the payment of the work was released to some other person.
Mohammad Lalif, a resident of the village Quasba alleged that he was allotted works and work orders were issued under 14th FC in 2019 in lieu of some money of certain amount by some officials of Panchayat.
“After completion of work, the officials visited the spot for measurement and directed me to install a board regarding information about works done and then demanded more money for release of payment of bills, which I gave them but it has been more than one and half years since the work done, the payment of my work has not been released,” he alleged further adding that he came to know that the payment was released to other person.
He further said that when he approached the ACD Poonch regarding the issue, who further forwarded the matter to concerned DPO to conduct an inquiry but DPO further asked the concerned Sarpanch to conduct an inquiry.
The local residents including Panch Ward No 1 Javid Iqbal, Panch Ward No 3 Mohd Din, and Panch Ward No 5 Salima Bi demanded inquiry and strict action against the officials, who were involved in taking money.
Meanwhile, the concerned officials of panchayats ruled out the allegations leveled against them. When the Early Times correspondent contacted the BDO Quasba, he said that he had no knowledge about the issue and said that he would inquire about it.
