JAMMU, Jan 27: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta took out a massive protest in Jammu city against the hooliganism of farmers in Delhi and making 26th January a black Republic Day. Addressing the protesters, Ashok Gupta stated that the groups from Ghazipur deviated from their agreed-upon route, and reached ITO, where they ran riot; another, from Singhu border, deliberately took a turn they were not meant to, and stormed the Red Fort, where one of the protesters climbed the first available flag post and hoisted the religious flag. He stated that this was a Farmers rally and the farmers were from Hindu, Sikh, Muslim community but only people from one community carried their religious flags which were hoisted none of the farmers from other community carried their religious flags. He said that the incident at Red Fort was unfortunate, insult to those who sacrificed their lives for India's freedom and national integrity. The protesters may have genuine concerns about the farm laws, but images of tractors being used to ram through buses and barricades, armed men with swords on horses trying to run down policemen is not acceptable, he added. Abhishek Gupta (youth wing president) said that the way the flag of another community was waved at the fort in place of the national flag of India, it hurt the honour and dignity of the country. |
