Jammu Pintoo Club tops; Lions Club follows in Premier League of Jammu Edition

Jammu, Jan 27: Adding yet another victory to its kitty, Pintoo Club Jammu by defeating Pintoo Club Akhnoor, on Wednesday secured top ranking on the concluding day of volleyball event in the Jammu Edition of Premier League played here.
However, the events of Kabaddi are in progress whereas matches will take off in the discipline of football and kho-kho in coming days.
As per official communiqué issued by the J&K Sports Council, six top volleyball teams of Jammu District played a total of 15 matches in the first phase of Premier League currently in progress in separate districts across the Jammu Division.
Pintoo Club Jammu dominated the league matches followed by Lions Club Pallanwala at Number 2.
Pintoo Club spikers, Romi Bhagat, Najar, Chahat stole the show with their extraordinary display of game during the league round while Rohit, Vipin, Rohit Sharma from Border Lines Club exhibited latest techniques and received applauds from the Audience.
Joint Security, Volleyball Association of J&K, Master Puran singh was the special guest on the concluding day while Raman Gupta, executive member of VAJK was the guest of the honor. Sajjad Hussain, Coach Pintoo Club Jammu, lauded the spikers for their tireless efforts displaying professional throw of the game. However, in ranking, Pintoo Club Jammu was followed by Border Lions Pallanwala, Jammu Spikers, Pintoo Club Akhnoor, Trikuta Club Salehar and Volleyball Club Allah The premier league was organized under the supervision of Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council and on the directions of Dr Naseem Choyudhary, Secretary, J&K Sports Council.
Earlier in the matches, Pintoo Club Jammu beat Pinto Club Akhnoor in three straight sets 3-0 (25-12,25-17,25-19), Pinto Club Akhnoor beat Trikuta Salehar 3-0 (25-10, 25-21, 25-22) and Jammu Spikers beat Pinto Club Akhnoor 3-2 (25-11, 26-28, 25-11, 22-25 , 15-10). National VFI Referees Amarjeet Singh, Aashiq Hussain and Imtiaz officiated the matches. Kuldeep Magotra, Chief Executive Officer VAJK/ Associate Secretary of VFI, Vijay Magotra General Secretary, R C Sharma, Treasure, Subash Shastri, Manpreet Kour, Veena Kumari (Executive Members), Volleyball Association of J&K, Dalbir Mehta, manager Play Field Shastri Nagar assisted in smooth conduct of the matches.
