Bishnah, Feb 8: Govt. Degree College Bishnah organized National online workshop on Language of Cinema from Feb 1 to 7th February. The workshop was inaugurated with an introduction by Dr Randheer Kour, Assistant Professor, Department of Punjabi, organizer and coordinator of this workshop, which was followed by a welcome address by Programme Chair Dr. Anuradha Pandoh, Principal GDC Bishnah. The keynote address was delivered by Rashid Ali, Assistant Professor, Department of Mass Communication and New media, Central University of Jammu.
Rashid introduced participants with the history of cinema dating back to the age when man used to live in the caves. The guest speaker of the programme was Talat Parvez Rohilla, Commissioner Secretary, HED. Because of his vision and involvement in this workshop, this collective effort gained certain degree of prominence in the academic arena.
ln this workshop, some 210 participants registered but only 35 successfully completed the course. The resource person of the workshop was B. A. Samvartha, who is an alumni of JNU and FTll, teacher of film screenplay writing. He conducts short term course for the FTll, Pune.
