JAMMU, Feb 15: Director Tourism, Jammu, Dr. N J Chowdhary, today held maiden interactive meeting with Hotel/Travel Trade Fraternity of Jammu Division and listens to the issues confronted by them in the wake of COVID-19 protocols, besides the modalities for successful conduct of fairs, festivals and events to be organized by the Tourism Directorate in near future. The Travel Trade bodies highlighted various issues which need to be addressed for promotion of trade and travel sector. They sought exemption of COVID testing at Lakhanpur, Railway Stations & Airports, simplification of registration process under "Ease of Doing Business", facilitating destination linkage to pilgrim/tourist places like Patnitop, Katra, Shiv Khori, Bhaderwah by plying Inter State Tourist Buses/Coaches; developing of wayside amenities enroute all major tourist places across the Jammu region under Pilgrim Circuits, and construction of Paryatan Bhawan at Jammu.
